Dry RiseR TESTING
Buildings containing DRY RISERS are normally serviced and tested annually in accordance with British Standard 9990/2006 and are issued with a full test certificate, the BS states they are inspected visually every 6 months and serviced annually to ensure equipment is fit for use. 6 monthly inspection includes Checking all valves are closed and working, replacing strop or lock if required. Replace washers, damaged or missing Blank caps Check hand wheels and nuts Checking landing outlets, inlet cupboards. Check inlet breaching valve springs. Lubricate moving parts. Annual Service and Test Using a Fire Appliance connect to the inlet a water supply charged to a pressure of 10 Bar for 15 minutes, during this period a check and inspection of the system is made confirming no water leakage is taking place and the air release valve is satisfactory.
